Dambulla cave temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country. This site is situated 148 km east of Colombo and 72 km north of Kandy. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. The Buddhist mural paintings (covering an area of 2,100 m2 ) are of particular importance, as are the 157 statues. The rock of Dambulla is the centre of a Buddhist cave-temple complex established in the 3rd century BC and occupied continuously until today. Its location has marked a transportation node between the Eastern and Western Dry Zones and between the Dry Zones and the central mountains throughout the history of Sri Lanka. The cave-temple complex is established on an inselberg or erosional remnant of importance in the study of the island’s geological history.

Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress which is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The ‘Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster.

Habarana is a popular tourist destination for safari lovers as it is the starting point for safaris in the nearby Habarana jungle and the Minneriya sanctuary which is heavily populated by elephants. Elephant back riding is also an attraction in this small city. Habarana is situated nearby to the ancient rock fortress and castle/palace ruin of Sigiriya and is situated on the main road from Colombo to Trincomalee, Polonnaruwa and Batticaloa.

Kitulgala was the location where the famous film ‘Bridge On the River Kwai’ was filmed. Also en route observe the waterfalls St. Clare’s and Devon. The main attractions include white water rafting, trekking and the Kelani Forest Reserve a popular bird watching location. Can enjoy white water rafting. Afterwards leave to NuwaraEliya. Misty steep roads, twisting through lush green blankets of tea bushes in a cool climate, remind visitors that they are within the range of the renowned British colonial retreat, Nuwara Eliya. Augmented by an English countryside atmosphere, the city of light – once governed by English & Scottish planters – is still studded with colonial bungalows, hedgerows & one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in the world.

Ruhuna National park or more affectionately known as Yala, has been the most celebrated wildlife park in Sri Lanka for over a century, along with its first self appointed Boer prisoner of war game warden H.E.Engelbrecht, quiet a story in itself. It is located in a tract of land covering approximately 1260 km2, between Kumbukkan River & Menik River, and shares its borders with Yala strict nature reserve, Kumana, Kataragama, Katagamuwa and Nimalawa sanctuaries. This is an amazing experience where you will see wild animals closely and lifetime experience of being with real wild animals like elephants, leopards and lot more.

Galle city tour and Galle Fort tour is one of the main tourist attraction in southern part of Sri Lanka. Once you enter into the Galle Fort, you will see the walled area of the town which consists of narrow streets lined with European style buildings, traditional churches as well as some small shops selling lace and jewelry. This charming area is best explored on foot walking towards the lighthouse and sea wall. Sun set is the best time to spend on top the wall by looking at the deep sea, which will make you unforgettable view in this tour. The walled city has stood since the early sixteenth century, through the Colonial periods of the Portuguese, Dutch and British and in our present times is proclaimed as an Archaeological Reserve and been identified as a World Heritage site.

Polonnaruwa, last ruled by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe – before it was brought under the British rule in 1815, Kandy the World Heritage Site & last royal capital of Sri Lankan kings – crafts an array of culture, history and heritage in the minds of visitors across the globe. Experience an ancient Kandyan legacy engraved around its crown jewel, the temple of the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. A stroll across this small lakeside town – cradled among the misty hills – will feature the Kandy City Centre – bundled with latest and world class brands, bazaar, an arts & crafts centre, as well as a gem museum & lapidary. The Gal Viharaya -where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in ‘Upright’, ‘Sedentary’ and ‘Recumbent’ postures carved out of rock, the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, king Parakramabahu’s statue, and the Parakrama Samudraya lake built by King Parakramabahu the great. There are also monuments of famous places of worship such as the Shiva Temple, the Lankathilake, the Watadage, the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera and the remains of a former Temple of the Tooth Relic.Overnight stay at hotel in Polonnaruwa.

Hortain Plains is one of the very important National parks in Sri Lanka especially for its topographical variations. It has unique vegetation and is famous for many rare and endemic highland birds. The most awesome fascinating feature of the Horton Plains is the escarpment that falls 880 meters to the lowlands of the southern region of the island. Aptly known as the ‘World’s End’ the view from the precipice of the countryside below towards the south coast is spectacular.

DAY 01 – AIRPORT- NEGOMBO

Meet and welcomed by our company representative and transferred to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Negombo.

DAY 02 – NEGOMBO – DAMBULLA – SIGIRIYA

Breakfast at hotel. Leave to Dambulla.

Proceed to Sigiriya.

DAY 03 – SIGIRIYA – HABARANA

Breakfast at hotel and then Proceed to Habarana.

Overnight stay at hotel in Habarana.

DAY 04- HABARANA – POLONNARUWA

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Polonnaruwa.

Visit Polonnaruwa, which was the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka, built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, and which is a world heritage site. Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace and the Gal Viharaya. Overnight stay at hotel in Polonnaruwa

DAY 05- POLONNARUWA – KANDY

After Breakfast head to Kandy. En route you will visit a spice garden in Matale. Proceed to Kandy.

DAY 06 – Kandy / Kitulgala/ Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast leave for Kitulgala.

Overnight stay at hotel in NuwaraEliya.

DAY 07 – HORTON PLAINS / NUWARA ELIYA

After an early breakfast at the hotel, leave for Horton plains, the highest plateau in the country.

Back to Nuwara Eliya. Commence a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the Nuwara Eliya Town, Market place, Golf Course, the Hill club, and drive around this hill station viewing Lake Gregory.

Overnight stay at hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 08 – NUWARA ELIYA – ELLA

After breakfast leave for Ella.

DAY 09 – ELLA- YALA

Breakfast at hotel. Then proceed to Yala. En-route visit Rawana Waterfalls, a sight to behold with a scenic backdrop of mountains and valleys. It is featured in the Rawana mythology, where Sita is said to have bathed from this waterfall while she was in captivity. Overnight stay at hotel in Yala.

DAY 10 – YALA- GALLE – BENTOTA

After an early breakfast, commence a jeep safari in the Yala National Park by private jeep accompanied by a tracker.

Afterwards leave for Galle.

DAY 11 – BENTOTA

Breakfast at hotel. Day at leisure.

Bentota delightfully located along one of the finest beaches on the South West coast. Spend the day at leisure watching the waves as they bounce off the sun-kissed sands.

Overnight stay at hotel in Bentota.

DAY 12 – BENTOTA – AIRPORT

Overnight stay at hotel in Bentota.

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
